STEP Transportation Initiative

Help STEP Students Go Further

The Bonneville Education Foundation is proud to partner with the Bonneville Joint School District 93 STEP Program to help secure reliable transportation for its students.

STEP serves young adults with disabilities as they transition from high school into greater independence. An important part of that education happens outside the classroom. Students learn and practice real-world skills through community-based experiences, including employment opportunities, shopping, recreation, volunteering, and other activities that help prepare them for adulthood.

Why a 12-Passenger Van?

STEP currently faces transportation limitations that can require multiple trips to transport students into the community. A 12-passenger van would allow more students and staff to travel together, helping the program:

• Maximize instructional time by reducing multiple trips
• Increase access to community-based learning
• Provide more opportunities to practice employment and independent-living skills
• Keep students and staff together during outings
• Expand the experiences available to STEP students

The Bonneville Education Foundation is working alongside STEP and community partners to raise the funds necessary to make this transportation initiative possible.
